Times have evolved to a great extent. What was once thought as impossible is now simple and possible. Modern day technology with advancements in the field of computers and electronic gadgets has made it possible. Complex and sophisticated presentations are now just a click away. Making effective presentation is now a simple task, yet not as simple as one imagines it to be. A sound presentation involves a careful study of the material and relevant facts, a detailed insight into the purpose of presentation, compatibility of presentation's aim with presentation's approach. Times have changed, and changed for the better. Nowadays, presentations can be made easily and the work of a presenter is significantly reduced due to the use of computers. Mind-boggling statistical figures and high-end data can be reduced to a few slides now. Making effective presentation involves certain things which must be followed to attain success in presentations, namely: * Make sure that you understand the purpose of the presentation in a clear manner. Any doubts must be clarified beforehand to avoid any complications at a later stage. * The purpose of the presentation must be strictly observed throughout the presentation and the presentation must stay focused on it. * The presenter must be able to justify his statements with material and relevant facts. It is essential as the audience can trust the truth in his statements and this is a great achievement in itself. * Make sure that the content and flow of the presentation is as simple as possible, this will help you attract the interest of the audience to a great extent. * The presentation must adhere to the predefined time schedule, it must not be over-stretched without any valid reason and it must be an interactive session and not a boring one. If the presentation is of a very long period, make sure that breaks are provided to allow the audience to relax, this will help you to maintain their interest in your presentation. * The slides must be kept to the minimal and fancy fonts must be avoided. Make use of common fonts such as Arial and Times New Roman. * The success of the presentation depends on the type of audience. Make sure that your presentation is able to reach the minds of the audience. * Speak in a proper sense, the voice must not be too loud nor too slow. It must be further clear and free from any kind of speech defects. Making effective presentation involves high skills, expertise and knowledge of the presenter. It can be rightly concluded that presentation is a great tool in the quiver of the presenter and the success or failure of any kind of presentation totally depends upon him. |
