Important Points About Teaching Presentations
|
All teachers know the importance of presentations. A teaching presentation is an opportunity for them to teach what they love the most. It may be an illustration, writing or even a process. Before making a teaching presentation, you must keep in mind a few things. These are discussed below. Teaching presentations work best with third grade and those above. However, the groups must not be larger than twenty five students. This way, a single teacher would be able to give full attention to the needs and problems of every student. It is always advisable for you to choose one aspect of illustrating or writing. You should always show samples rather than just tell about them. Read out and explain descriptive paragraphs, which include good characterization of the subject. The design, layout and color of the illustration must also be explained and shown. One must plan a teaching Presentation before hand. It is always helpful that you introduce an aspect of illustrating or writing when teaching. This will enable your students to know what you plan to teach them next. This way, they can follow your teaching and instructions better. An introduction before each aspect will also make your job of teaching easier. Always show or read out samples from the work of others or from your own work. This technique will further assist you in teaching and provide a fair idea of the topic to your students. Giving examples and showing samples will give some practical knowledge to your students on the subject you tend to discuss. Samples of illustrations will also give them a picture in their mind. This would further assist them when they sketch it themselves. Make sure you allow your students some time to practice the concept. Practice makes man perfect. This is not just a saying, it is actually true. The more time your students get to practice, the better they would get at it. Whether it is a subject to be read or a painting to be made, the more duration your pupils get, the better they would be able to grasp the concept. Share your personal experiences and secrets of the craft with your disciples. This way, they will be able to learn from the mistakes you had committed. They will also try to avoid them while they do their work. After they do so, make sure you evaluate their performance, accordingly. A correct evaluation of their work will boost their confidence. Also, they would come to know of their mistakes as well as their strengths. This, way teaching presentations can be good learning experience for your students. Also, it is a chance for you to engage your pupils in practicing a particular skill. |
